Pharmacy Technician Schools in Florida

Students wishing to attend a pharmacy technician school in Florida have several choices. The colleges teaching pharmacy technician courses are scattered conveniently throughout the state. In the southern part of the state is the Palm Beach Atlantic University. It is located in Palm Beach and the facility includes twenty five acres of grounds. It was founded in 1968. There are many health related industries near the college. It is also located just a few minutes away from the Atlantic Ocean. This is a Christian based college. They offer twenty areas of study for the undergraduate and five graduate programs. They offer a faculty student ratio of seven to one so that each student can receive the amount of personal attention they need. The School of Pharmacy is in Gregory Hall. It is a forty four thousand square foot, four story building which houses pharmacy labs, classrooms and faculty offices.

Another pharmacy Technician school in Florida is Florida A and M University. It is located in Tallahassee and is one of twelve schools run by Florida A and M. The school has approximately twelve thousand students during a normal school year. The College is in a building called the Dyson pharmacy building that is stated to have large classrooms, a lecture hall, a resource center, teaching laboratories with the most modern equipment available. The faculty is said to be dedicated to providing each student with the hands-on training and classroom knowledge they will need to become a successful pharmacy technician. There are eight resident halls that are equipped with reception halls, laundry facilities and recreation rooms. Students wishing to live in the On-Campus housing have to submit a room and board contract along with a deposit prior to the semester they wish to use the facility. The curriculum for pharmacy technician is designed to aide students in a wide variety of pharmaceutical interests. One requirement for admission is that student’s still attending high school can apply to go to the college at the beginning of their senior year. They must have at least twenty one unit’s of high school work and subjects that are required for admission are biological sciences, chemistry, physics, English, mathematics, typing, foreign language and social studies or history civics.

Nova Southeastern University offers campus sites in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. They have limited student housing that is available on campus, but there are several moderately priced apartment rental units that are available in the immediate vicinity of the campus. The college is surrounded by sandy beaches which make it one of the most popular pharmacy technician schools in the state. There are also many theatrical, musical, athletic and dance activities in the area, along with film and artistic events.

The University of Florida is located in Gainesville but also has campuses in Jacksonville, Orlando and St. Petersburg, where students can complete the four year program if they wish to. This college is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. It is stated to have many professional organizations that the students can get involved in if they are interested.
